Anemone (Windflower)
Poppy Anemone. Erect perennial with kobby tubers that produce round to oval, 3 palmate, mid-green basal and stem leaves, 2-5 inches long with finely lobed leaflets. Solitary, showy, single flowers with 5-8 tepals that bloom in spring. Reddish purple 2" blooms in mid to late spring. Plant 3" deep and 6" apart.

CULTIVATION (2): Light sandy soil in full sun. Dry dormancy after flowering.
PROPAGATION: Remove offsets of bulbous species in autumn. Divide clump forming, rhizomatous species in spring.
PESTS AND DISEASES: Leaf gall, downy mildew, leaf and stem smut, powdery mildew, viruses, and rust. Susceptible to catepillars, slugs, and flea beetles.
