Artemisia (Silver Mound)
Soft feathery foliage and form compact silky mound. Low, rhizomatous, evergreen. Panicles to 4 inches long, of small yellow flowerheads in summer. Excellent for hot, dry areas. Likes well drained soil and full sun. Rarely needs dividing - preference is undisturbed. Deer and rabbit resistant.
Something dug up this plant in 2004, I split it and replanted into 2 locations - looked like it survived the diggin' stray damage well.

CULTIVATION: Well drained fertile soil in full sun. Cut to the base in autumn.
PROPAGATION: Sow seed in containers in a cold frame in autumn or spring. Divide in spring or autumn. Root greenwood cuttings or heel cuttings of side shoots in early summer.
PESTS AND DISEASES: White rust, downy mildew, powdery mildew, many rusts and a variety of fungal leaf and stem diseases are common.
