Coreopsis (Tickseed) 'American Dream'
Herbaceous perennial with daisy like, pink flowerheads. Deer resistant. Small rose pink flowers with yellow centers in summer with attractive, thread like foliage. Makes a good small scale ground cover. Virtually indestructible thrives even in the worst conditions. Attracts butterflies. Not as striking as moonbeam.
CULTIVATION: Fertile, well drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Deadhead to prolong flowering. Drought tolerant.
PROPAGATION: Sow in a seedbed in midspring. Will flower the first year. Divide in early spring. Root basal cuttings in spring.
PESTS AND DISEASES: Slugs and snails feed on plants. Bacterial spot, rust, flower blight, aster yellows, powdery mildew, downy mildew, and many fungal spots can occur.
