Ligularia 'Little Rocket'
Clump forming perennial with triangular, pointed, toothed leaves, with heart-shaped bases. In early and late summer, tall slender racemes of numerous yellow flowerheads, to 1-1/2 inches across, with orange yellow centers, are borne on black stems. Compact version of a perennial favorite is perfect for any consistently moist spot. Appreciates some afternoon shade which will be brightened by upright golden yellow flowers riding on dark stems over large, bold leaves. Try at waters edge, in a moist woodland garden or for its vertical and horizontal interest in containers. Foliage plant.
CULTIVATION: Consistently moist soil. Grown in moderately fertile, deep, reliably moist soil, in full sun with some midday shade. Shelter from strong winds.
PROPAGATION: P.P. # 14621. Sow seed of species in containers outdoors in autumn or spring, or divide species and cultivars in spring or after flowering.
PESTS AND DISEASES: Slugs and snails may damage emerging leaves in spring.
